About the MobGeneral History
The Serbian Mafia has a very unique birth and history which revolves around war and branch all across Europe. The Mafia dates back to when Serbia was still part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia which actually had a very low crime rate. Criminals and organized crime members were able to live a peaceful lives as long as they did all their illegal acts outside the country. This allowed for a small crime rate in the country and still have a source of money coming into the country. The organization's main focuses revolved around smuggling, arms and drug trafficking and illegal gambling. The Serbian Mafia also has one of the largest cocaine import enterprise in Europe and a notorious reputation for pulling off daring heist. Major Event A major event in the history of the Serbian Mafia were the Yugoslav Wars. These wars, which occurred in the early 1990’s, involved Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This war not only transformed Serbia, but also it’s Mafia. The Mafia added many new members, most of whom were former soldiers desperate for money. In the years after the Serbian Mafia would have not only more money than the young government, but also better armed than the army and police. However, the government and money were never against each other, infact the government was often super corrupted by the Mafia and worked as one. Recent Years The Serbian Mafia is still very active and is only expanding it’s organized crime empire. It is said that around half of the current soccer clubs in Serbia, their most popular sport, are run by people with links to organized crime. This not only shows the current power of the Mafia, but also their wide range of it, effecting everyday people and things most don’t even associate with crime groups. The Serbian Mafia does currently have as strong presence in the States, but many leaders of other groups in America do infact have Serbian origins showing it is indeed a hotbed of crime. |
